Email is not broken.
You were taught it by people selling it.
I. WHERE I STAND
I have spent over a decade fixing a problem the industry profits from you not understanding.
People hire me with money they cannot afford to lose. Their revenue is bleeding. Their best customers haven't seen their emails in months. They are not asking me to fix it. They are out of options.
The moment I tell them what is actually wrong, they negotiate. Their dashboard says they're fine. A guru told them their list is healthy. A marketer with thirty years of experience said cleaning is a myth.
I do not blame them. The cost of believing me is admitting they have been lighting money on fire for a decade. Nobody volunteers for that. But the math does not care.
II. WHAT IS TRUE
The industry has lied to you by omission for over twenty years. The ESPs built dashboards that flatter you while billing you for the contacts those dashboards convinced you to keep. The blocklists punish small senders while quietly looking the other way for the big ones. The gurus sold five-thousand-dollar courses for rules that should have been free.
If their dashboard told you the truth and the competitor's dashboard told you a prettier lie, you would blame them for the bad news.
It is not a conspiracy. It is worse. It is math.
You are not the problem. You were lied to.
III. THE LINE I WILL NOT CROSS
I will not water down the diagnosis to make you feel better. I will not sell you a magic button. There is no magic button. I will tell you the truth and I will not soften it, because softening it is what got you here.
I am not selling you software. I am not selling you a course. I am not sponsored by anyone.
I am the clerk at the bank window who is tired of being yelled at. The bank let you fill in the mortgage calculator. The calculator said you qualified. The bank did not tell you the credit score was the whole game until the moment they told you no. By then it is too late. The house is gone. And you are angry at the clerk who has been telling you, all along, to pay your bills on time.
Pay your bills on time. Stop yelling at the clerk.
IV. WELCOME ABOARD
You're on the ship.
Here is what we are building. A community where the rules are public, the questions are welcome, and the answer is never "buy my course." Where a Shopify owner asking about DMARC gets the same respect as an enterprise team in a Slack thread. Where the only certification is showing up.
The rules are not secret. They are just buried.
Come with your questions. Come with your wins. Come with your scars.
Let's get shit ship shape.
Send less. Send better. Send to people who asked.
